BRYANT GOES WIRE-TO-WIRE TO WIN GIRLS DIVISION OF DUSTIN JOHNSON WORLD JUNIOR GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP; AARAV SHAH CAPTURES BOYS TITLE

Myrtle Beach, SC (March 2, 2025)— The weather was the story again as the final round of the 10th annual Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship Presented by LA Golf was played in chilly, windy conditions with only two players finishing under par for the day. 36-hole leaders Kayla Bryant and Arrow Aarav Shaw were both able to hold off any challengers on the final day of the 54-hole premier junior golf event.
Bryant (Boca Raton, FL) began the day with a two-stroke advantage over Ann-Sophie Bourgault (Quebec, Canada) and was able to hang on for a one-stroke victory after shooting a 4-over 75, finishing the tournament at 3-over. Bourgault claimed second with a 3-over 75 on the final day to finish at 4-over. Ryleigh Knaub (Debary, FL) had Sunday’s best girls score – even par – to catapult her into a solo third-place finish at 5-over.
“It was an absolute rollercoaster today, but I just grinded it out to the very end,” said Bryant. “It feels surreal to win. I came into this week with low expectations for myself. To come out with a win is amazing. I’m speechless.”
Aarav Shah (Melbourne, Australia) had a three-stroke lead heading into Sunday. He played a steady round in the difficult conditions, shooting a 1-over 73 to capture a four-stroke win. Aarav Shah, the event’s first international boys winner, shot even par on the back nine to cement his victory and was the only player in the field to finish under par at -3 for the tournament.
“This course is very tight and penalizing around the greens. I was just trying to keep my discipline and attitude throughout the tournament,” said Aarav Shah. “I knew that it was going to be a high-scoring tournament, so I just told myself to stay calm even if I made a couple of mistakes here or there. It means a lot to me to win this tournament. I have been here (at TPC Myrtle Beach) practicing and preparing and my hard work has paid off.”
Tyler Mawhinney (Fleming Island, FL) and Sohan Patel (Weston, FL) both shot even par 72 on Sunday. They tied for second at 1-over for the week.
