Boulware, Bauer and Lee Lead After Round 1 at Dustin Johnson World Junior

Round 1 of the Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship got underway Friday under ideal conditions, with sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70s greeting the field at TPC Myrtle Beach. The championship’s elite international field took advantage of the beautiful weather, setting up competitive leaderboards in both the boys and girls divisions after the opening round.

At day’s end, Stuart Boulware and Chase Bauer share the lead in the boys division at 3-under-par 69, while Aubrey Lee holds the outright lead in the girls division after also posting a 3-under 69.

Boulware and Bauer Share Boys Division Lead

Boulware and Bauer each turned in the lowest rounds of the day in the boys division, opening with matching 69s to sit atop a tightly contested leaderboard. Just one shot behind at 2-under 70 is a group of four players including Paxton Lane, Lester Low, Hampton Beebe, and Cameron Kuchar, keeping the pressure firmly on the leaders heading into the second round.

Another group of contenders sits within striking distance at 1-under 71, including Graham Christopher, Theodore Snyder, William Lisle, Rory Asselta, Drew Woolworth, and Grayson Baucom.

With 12 players under par and 18 players at even par or better, the boys leaderboard remains tightly packed after the opening round. Defending champion Aarav Shah sits at 3-over 75 following Round 1 and will look to make a move over the final two rounds.

Lee Leads Competitive Girls Division

In the girls division, Aubrey Lee delivered one of the standout performances of the day, carding a 3-under 69 to take the solo lead after Round 1. Three players sit just one shot back at 2-under 70, including Macie Rasmussen, Nobelle Park, and Michelle Xing, setting up a tightly contested race heading into Round 2.

Another trio of players sits within two shots of the lead at 1-under 71, including Fay Jia, Ein Kim, and Alexandra Snyder.

In total, seven players finished under par in the girls division, with nine players at even par or better, keeping the leaderboard well within reach as the tournament progresses.

Strong Field on Display

The Dustin Johnson World Junior once again features one of the strongest junior fields in the world. The 2026 championship includes 90 players from around the globe, with many competitors ranked among the top junior golfers internationally.

The boys field alone includes 35 players ranked inside the Top 100 of the Universal Golf Rankings, while the girls division features 24 players ranked among the Top 100, highlighting the depth of talent competing this week in Myrtle Beach.

Round 2 Ahead

With two rounds remaining in the 54-hole championship, the leaderboard remains wide open in both divisions. A large group of players sits within just a few shots of the lead, setting the stage for an exciting weekend at TPC Myrtle Beach.

Round 2 will continue Saturday as players return to the course looking to position themselves for a run at the title in one of junior golf’s most prestigious events.
